    • This talk, based on the work of Searobend: Linked Data for English Language Texts, 1000-1300, provides a consideration of how much English survives from the period 700-1300 and when and where it was written, relative to French and Latin.
  • 15:50, room P129: English Language Writing, 700-1300: Future Data, Future Methods (invitation in PDF)
    • This talk, based on the work of Ansund: Using Machine Learning to Build a new Exhaustive Open Access corpus of Old English, discusses the possibility of building new, exhaustive, hybrid palaeographical-linguistic corpora for the study of Early English, and how traditional philological methodologies can be adapted to work at a new scale, analysing thousands of texts and millions of words
